The Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) has announced the Online Screening Test (OST) 2025 for recruitment of teachers in Army Public Schools (APS) across India. This exam offers a prestigious opportunity to work in a network of CBSE-affiliated schools under the Ministry of Defence.
📌 What is the OST?
The Online Screening Test (OST) is the first stage of the selection process for the posts of PGT (Post Graduate Teacher), TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) and PRT (Primary Teacher). The OST is a computer-based exam, and successful candidates receive a Score Card valid for life, which makes them eligible to apply for vacancies in any APS across India.

Online Screening Test (OST)
- 📅 Exam Dates: 20–21 Sept 2025 (Reserve: 22–23 Sept)
- 🧠 MCQ-based test with 200 questions (1 mark each)
- ⚠️ Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer
Interview & Evaluation
After qualifying OST, candidates
apply directly to individual schools based on advertised vacancies. Selection
includes:
- Personal Interview
- Teaching skills & computer proficiency test
- Language teachers: Essay & comprehension (15 marks each)

🏫 Schools Under APS
There are over 130 Army Public Schools across India, including major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Patiala, and Jalandhar. Teachers may be posted anywhere across these schools, based on vacancies.

The exam will be conducted in 41 major cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Patiala, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, and others. Candidates can choose 3 cities in order of preference.
